Floral Lungs Needlepoint Canvas
Floral Lungs Needlepoint Canvas
In case you didn’t know, your lungs are the pair of spongy, pinkish-gray organs in your chest. When you inhale, air enters your lungs, and oxygen from that air moves to your blood. At the same time, carbon dioxide, a waste gas, moves from your blood to the lungs and is exhaled. As I type, I’m hyper aware of my own lungs because I have a bit of a cold right now. You may have experienced illness that made you hyper aware of your lungs, too. I think the lungs are an organ that is easier to pay attention to because we can take conscious control of its function, unlike other organs. The simple action of inhaling and exhaling can be calming and soothing. Yogis and meditators will often coach that the first step of mindfulness is an awareness of breath. Aren’t the lungs awesome?!
