Priestess Tarot Card Needlepoint Canvas
Tarot is a card-based divination tool dating back to France in the late 1700s. Using archetypes and themes universal to the human experience, Tarot is popular for its use as a tool of self-discovery and introspection. While many people think that its use is for telling fortunes and predicting the future, Tarot is commonly used as a tool of reflection and insight.

While stitching the cards won’t give you a reading, stitching the cards may give you the opportunity to sit in reflection on the archetype before you.

The High Priestess card shows us the divine feminine. A woman seated fully in her spiritual power and awakening, inviting us to tune in to our own subconscious and intuition. The High Priestess symbolizes the hidden spiritual world in which we live and move, and helps us as we explore and seek to understand our inner wisdom.
.
On either side of The High Priestess stand two pillars, marking the entrance to the sacred, mystical temple - the spiritual or subconscious realms. The black and white colors of the pillars symbolize duality – masculine and feminine, darkness and light – stating that knowledge and acceptance of duality are required to enter this sacred space.
The High Priestess wears a blue robe, meant to represent flowing waters, or a stream of consciousness. In her lap, she holds a scroll. The scroll is partly covered, signifying that sacred knowledge is both explicit and implicit, it will only be revealed when the student is ready to look beyond the material realm. The crescent moon at her feet symbolizes her connection with the divine feminine, her intuition and subconscious mind, and the natural cycles of the moon.

All of the Tarot card designs are hand painted and stitch painted. Each design is 2 2/3" by 3 3/4" and are the same size as all of the tarot designs released by Fire and Iris Designs last year. If you bought tarot cards last year from Fire and Iris, these designs will match! The canvas is 7x8" for determining stretcher bar size, if needed.
